Trainers

John and April Barnett own and operate FoxHorn Stables in Moseley, Virginia. They bring a combined 25 years of knowledge and experience in the horse industry to Chesterfield County and it's surrounding area. They are certified ARIA trainers, and are very active in local and and regional shows.

John, as the head trainer for FoxHorn, brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to the barn. Riding and showing since the age of 6, John grew up in the western part of North Carolina, and had a very successful junior career in the show ring. During high school, John set his sights on becoming a trainer and professional rider.

Most of John's professional career has been spent teaching and training both children and adults who are interested in the show ring. John has a true passion, and it shows with his success as both a rider and trainer. He has produced many junior riders who have won top honor at some of the Nations top shows and have moved on to be successful adult competitors and trainers.

John's main focus as head trainer for FoxHorn, is not only teaching and riding, but educating riders and owners about the sport as a whole and teaching them to enjoy and have fun with the four legged teammates. Both John and his wife April, share an equal love and passion for horses and teaching, and enjoy instilling this knowledge and love of horses in others who want to learn.
